Philosophy

I love music.  Throughout my life, I have had profound musical experiences.  My ultimate goal for my students is for them to develop a deep love and appreciation for music.

I believe that a strong foundation in theory and technique is essential to musical development.   I insist on proper technique from the beginning.

I also believe that sight reading is an important ability.  Sight reading is integrated into every lesson and daily practice.

I strive to produce pianists who not only play the notes, but who can really make music and add expression to their songs.

I approach each lesson with a positive energy and adapt to the individual needs of the student.  I find great satisfaction in helping my students accomplish their goals.

I am a happy teacher who likes to have fun!
